ATU To Roll Out New Masters Programme

Accra Technical University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vaasan Ammattikorkeakoulu (VAMK), University of Applied Science, Finland to enhance a friendly cooperation and promote activities in education and culture between the two institutions.
The agreement is to roll out a two years Master of Engineering in Project Management programme which will provide students with advanced knowledge in engineering. ATU is to offer its facilities on campus and also be responsible for marketing the programme. Vaasa University of Finland, as part of the cooperation will award degrees to students of ATU undergoing the Project Management Programme.
Per the agreement also, both students and staff will be given the opportunity to apply for degree and masters programmes in the field of engineering in Finland. It also stated that students who wish to apply for masters should have at least 300 credits to themselves coupled with background knowledge in engineering, and for PHD programmes, 600 credits with equal background knowledge in engineering.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edmund Ameko in his closing remarks, said, ATU is looking forward to seeing to the success of this programme so that it will serve as a marketing tool for the University
The Master of Engineering Programme in Project Management is set to commence in September 2020 with a maximum of 20 students enrolling for the start of the Masters Programme in Engineering.
