Leading Technical Education In Ghana: ATU Equips Senior Management Team

The Accra Technical University (ATU) has embarked on a two-day workshop to equip its senior management staff to proffer workable solutions to the increasing challenges that have bedeviled the ‘University business’. The workshop which commenced on the 5th and ended on the 6th of September at the ATU Lodge, was hinged on the theme; ‘‘Team Building and Joint Vision Development for Increasing Productivity in ATU’’.
Addressing the opening session of the workshop, the Vice-Chancellor of ATU, Professor Samuel Nii Odai, recounted the milestones which the University have achieved since assuming office two months ago. He also out doored his vision for the academic year ahead and implored participants present plug in their contributions in order to achieve the common goal of positioning ATU as a centre of excellence, comparable to any other around the globe.
The workshop addressed issues of revenue mobilisation for the University as well as a dissection of its general development. Apart from dialogue sessions, seven focus groups took turns to present their short-term action plans and vision for the years ahead after which questions and answers as well as suggestions from the participants followed.
It is expected that in a fortnight’s time, participants will submit a comprehensive vision and a pragmatic outline for the coming academic year in addition to a draft of medium and long-term deliverables in a feedback meeting.
The Senior Management staff comprises key officers, Deans and Directors.
