The Vice Chancellor of Accra Technical University, Prof. Samuel Nii Odai has admonished staff of the University to teach to the understanding of students to achieve greater academic feats.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Active Teaching and Learning” programme, a workshop organized under the auspices of the University and Maastricht School of Management, the Vice-Chancellor registered his zero tolerance for failure among students and stressed that it behooves teachers of the University to employ effective teaching strategies to clamp down on academic failure.
He reiterated the University's goal in pursuance of higher academic standards and maintaining the academic pedigree that the University has had over the past decades. He stated that the workshop could not have come at a more opportune time than now, as the University prepares to kick-start the new academic year. He implored teachers to capitalize and replicate the outcomes of the workshop to impart on students for academic gains.
The "Active Teaching and Learning" workshop is an ongoing four-day intensive programme for staff of Accra Technical University. The programme begins from the 9th September to 12th September this year at the University's auditorium. It is a practical and interactive workshop that is geared towards raising academic standards both inside and outside the classroom.
