Faculty of Business holds research SEMINAR, Presents Papers

The Vice-Chancellor of Accra Technical University, Professor Samuel Nii Odai has stressed the need for Higher Educational Institutions to engage in Research activities to come up with ideas for solutions to the problems that the world grapples with.

Prof. Odai said this on the occasion of the Faculty of Business Research Seminar which was hosted by the Faculty at the University’s Guest Lodge on Friday 24th June, 2022.

The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that the university is supposed to be the repository of knowledge and only when members consistently develop an insatiable quest for knowledge through research, that mandate will be defeated. He added that the heartbeat of a university is research and the caveat is that as a university, “you either publish or perish.”

He congratulated the Faculty for its efforts in organising the seminar which had students and lecturers of the Faculty in attendance. The research seminar will enable students to learn how to conduct and present research. For lecturers of the Faculty, the seminar presents a forum to peruse and critique research papers of peers in a bid to build the search for knowledge and ensure higher standards in research.

A total of six abstracts were presented at the seminar. The panel which included colleague lecturers, subjected the abstract to thorough scrutiny and made submissions that were geared towards ensuring flawless research papers.
