ATU, Chinese University to Work on Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural & Technological Universities

Accra Technical University has entered a pact with the Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology in a high-level virtual meeting between Senior Management and faculty of ATU and the Chinese university on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

The collaboration is aimed at establishing a meaningful partnership under the proposed “Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural & Technological Universities”, initiated by the Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology in China.

Addressing the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor of ATU, Professor Samuel Nii Odai, intimated that the collaboration was in line with ATU’s strategic objective of internationalisation and a realisation of one of its key mandates. He was optimistic that the alliance was just the beginning of deeper and enduring relationship with the Chinese counterpart.

In a brief remark, Professor Dzakpasu, a professor at the Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, was grateful to both institutions and hopeful that the collaboration will be fruitful. “I have no doubt that the alliance will bring value, and enhance the quality of learning, teaching, and research”, he added.

The alliance has the mandate to build a knowledge library, information hub, and talent base in the fields of Architecture and Technology to extend support for the urbanisation of countries along the Silk Road.

The brief signing ceremony was graced by Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments.
