MEANING OF ELEMENTS IN THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY LOGO

DIAMOND JUBILEE (75^TH Anniversary) is a celebration held to mark an anniversary. Among monarchies, it usually refers to a 75th anniversary.

COLOURS: METALIC GOLD AND BAHAMA BLUE

75^th Anniversaries (Diamond Jubilee) is usually characterized by a platinum color theme but the METALIC GOLD AND THE BAHAMA BLUE resonates the ATU brand.

The color BLUE is frequently associated with qualities such as trustworthiness, reliability, and stability. In the context of the ATU 75^thanniversary logo, Bahamas Blue represent the institution’s commitment to being a trusted and dependable source of technical education, vocational training, and academic excellence.

GOLD is the fact that Gold is one of the most valuable and most precious of all metals in Ghana. It is symbolizes wealth and royalty when used in design hence the choice of color. The color gold also convey the idea of high quality, superior standards, and attention to detail. The metallic gold underscores the institution’s dedication to upholding high academic standards, providing quality technical education, and maintaining a commitment to excellence in all aspects of its operations.

GEAR SYSTEM

Accra Technical University has since its inception provided 75 years of quality TECHNICAL education to Ghanaians and people from various walks of life.

Therefore it was deemed necessary to represent the technical education in the logo design by building a concept around the gear system.

Gear is a toothed wheel that works with others to alter the relation between the speed of a driving mechanism such as the engine of a vehicle and the speed of the driven parts (the wheels).

Gear connotes “TECHNICALITY” in designing. Therefore in the bid to portray the major focus of the Institution which is Technical Education, the GEAR appeared to be a very suitable option. To give the design a futuristic appeal, the edges of the gear were rounded to achieve the desired effect.

STARS

The significance of the stars on the anniversary logo also indicate the excellence of the university for seven decades and counting of providing technical education and training in Ghana and even as it stands Accra Technical University is known to be the 4^th best university in Ghana which goes to the administration’s credit for all the hard work throughout this seven to eight decades. The number of stars correlates with the level at which the institution offers outstanding educational experience, characterized by high-quality facilities, resources, and opportunities for personal and academic growth.

THE GOLDEN WAVE

The wave, that is the break in the figure 7 and its linkage to the aperture or counter of figure 5 in gold and has stars on, connotes creativity as Accra Technical University (ATU) showcases creativity through various platforms and initiatives, reflecting its commitment to fostering innovation, originality, and problem-solving skills among its students, faculty, and the broader community.
