ATU Library Holds Workshop and Get-Together for Staff

The Accra Technical University Library has held a workshop, and a get-together to equip and appreciate the staff of the Library. The event which came off on Friday, January 15, 2021, at the ATU Guest Lodge, had the Vice-Chancellor and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Nii Odai and Pof. Amevi Acakpovi in attendance.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Odai commended the University Librarian and her team for the work done in 2020. He tasked them to go the extra mile this year, to achieve their set goals. He also entreated the team to always count on the Management for support.

On his part, Prof. Acakpovi thanked the staff for promoting a positive image of the University.

The University Librarian, Dr. Florence Plockey praised her team for their dedication and commitment to work and for believing in her.

Delivering a PowerPoint presentation on the theme, “Customer Care and How to Achieve It”, Dr Plockey emphasised the need for prioritising customer satisfaction as a university. She urged her staff to treat students who visit the library with respect and dignity to ensure repeated visits. She tasked her team to pay attention to the needs of their customers (students).

The workshop ended with a get-together ceremony to celebrate the staff of the University Library. Dressed in all white, the team dined and danced amidst the joyful celebration. Mr. Edmund Ananga, a member of staff, received the best employee of the year award.
