Twenty members from the Ghana Electrical Contractors Association (GECA) on Friday, October 23, received certificates in acknowledgement of their successful participation in a five-day training of trainers workshop a fortnight prior organised by Accra Technical University (ATU) and the Skills Development Fund (SDF).
In his opening remarks, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of ATU, Professor Amevi Acakpovi congratulated the awardees, eulogising their commitment and collaboration. He assured them that the University would continue to provide an enabling environment for the advancement of Competency-Based Training.
The recipients of the certificates, on the other hand, were grateful to the University for the training which they intimated would go a long way to improve upon their productivity and also inject appreciable doses of innovation into their delivery.
The Vice-Chancellor of ATU, Professor Samuel Nii Odai, the Ag. Registrar, Mr. Adu-Adjei Mensah, various Deans and Heads of Departments were also present to share in the joy of the 20 awardees.
The training of trainers programme is part of the University’s project under the aegis of the SDF which encompasses a thoroughly developed Competency-based Training (CBT) Curriculum to handle Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) training in Ghana, an online learning management system for PLC training and establishment of a modern laboratory to run PLC training.
