Accra Technical University’s Library has joined Valentine’s Day fever that has been buzzing this weekend with a special Chocolate Day open house event at the library premises from 15th to 19th February 2021.

The Library, adorned in red ribbons and balloons, will provide a hospitable atmosphere to the staff and students who visit the Library. During the week, visitors will look around and bask in the smart collection of newly acquired books and a compendium of useful information in academia on a myriad of subjects.  In addition to this, the Library also has available its repertoire of e-books, online databases and journals that will facilitate academic research and writing.

The week’s event is living its purpose, distributing chocolate on some days. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Samuel Nii Odai and his entourage visited the Library on 15th February 2021. Together with the University Librarian, Dr Florence Plockey, he went round to see the newly stocked library and was abreast of the services rendered by the outfit including anti-plagiarism scan, research support, seminars and workshops, automated library services and lending services among others.

We hope students will be excited about the event and the arrival of the new stocks displayed on various shelves.  Visitors on the first day admitted that this is what many of them have been looking for to help them with their studies and they are glad management and the library authorities have paid heed to their plea.

The Chocolate week event by the library is a promotional drive to create awareness and increase the use of reading materials and services in the library.
