A delegation from Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG) has paid a working visit to Accra Technical
University to sensitize the University Management on its operations.

The delegation, which was led by the Executive Director, Dr. Stephen Yamoah, was received by
the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Nii Odai and his team at the University’s Council
Chamber on Friday 13th May 2022.

The NPG delegation outlined its plans and how they can be incorporated into the curriculum of
the University at a time when nuclear power has become topical.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed excitement and assured the delegation of the University’s
support in championing the nuclear power discourse in the University Community.

Present at the brief gathering were the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Amevi Acakpovi,
Registrar, Mrs. Sylvia Oppong-Mensah, Directors, Deans, and Heads of Departments. The rest
were the Public Affairs Manager of NPG, Bellona-Gerard Vittor-Quao, Deputy Director Nuclear Power Institute-Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, and Archibold Buah-Kwofie, among others.

Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG) is the project organisation set up to manage Ghana’s first Nuclear
Power Project. NPG has been designated to be the eventual owner and operator of Ghana’s first
nuclear power plant.
