The auditorium of Accra Technical University was full of colour and creativity on Tuesday, 5th and Wednesday, 6th August 2025, as the Department of Fashion and Textile Technology held a pre-exhibition of student designs. The event gave a preview of what the public can expect at the final exhibition on August 15 at the National Theatre.

The displays featured a variety of outfits, from casual everyday wear to formal suits and elegant evening gowns. Some designs were simple and stylish, while others were bright and eye-catching, showing the students’ ability to work with different styles and ideas. Some outfits combined traditional Ghanaian fabrics with modern fashion trends, creating a fresh mix of heritage and contemporary design.

Beyond the visual appeal, the event demonstrated the skills students have acquired over their course of study, including pattern drafting, fabric selection, sewing techniques, and finishing details. Each piece reflected the time, effort, and creativity invested, turning classroom knowledge into real, wearable fashion.
The pre-exhibition also allowed students to interact with visitors, explain the inspiration behind their work, and receive valuable feedback ahead of the main show. For many, it was a confidence-building step that would help them refine their collections before they take to the grand stage at the National Theatre on August 15, 2025.
