Overview of the Faculty

The Faculty comprises the Department of Fashion Design and Textiles and the Department of Hotel Catering and Institutional Management. We take pride in preparing students for leadership and entrepreneurship careers in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Clothing, and Dressmaking. This preparation is grounded in solid scholarship and an all-rounded approach to education anchored in our philosophy derived from our international standardisation. The practical training orientation of this Faculty is to provide students with up-to-speed knowledge in the fields under study. We are committed to among others, holding mentorship programmes that solicit ideas and expertise of renowned industry players to help students understand the changes in the industry and how to exploit and maximise the benefits thereof.

Bachelor of Technology in Public Relations with Digital Communication

Programme Description

The Bachelor of Technology programme in Public Relations with Digital Communication seeks to provide academic and practical training for students to advance their careers in the Public relations fraternity. The programme seeks to provide training that focuses on the students creating, running and managing a business. The BTech in Public Relations with Digital Communication can be used by the student to create and manage their businesses or use their skills within an existing company to help that company expand into new areas.

Admission Requirement

Admission to the BTech in Public Relations and Digital Communication programme is open to any student who meets the academic and character requirement of the technical university.

  1. GCE ‘O’ Level: Five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least two (2) GCE ’A’ level passes and a pass in the General paper is an advantage.
  2. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination: Six SSSCE passes with an aggregate of 24 or better in three core subjects (Mathematics, Science, English Language) and any three electives, not below C6.
  3. West African Senior Secondary Certificate Exams (WASSCE). Six credit passes in 3 core subjects (Mathematics, Science and English Language) plus 3 electives
  4. Diplomas deemed equivalent to (2) or (3) years of the above will be considered on merit. (Holders of a Diploma in Public Relations will enter at level 200.
  5. Holders of HND will enter at level 300
  6. Matured Students (25 years or over) must have ONE of the following:
    1. Five (5) passes in GCE ‘O’ Level or School Certificate credits including English Language and Mathematics.
    2. Holders of Teachers’ Post-Secondary School Certificate (3 years).
  • Five (5) passes in West African Senior Secondary Certificate Exams (WASSCE) including English Language and Mathematics.
