John Lawer Narh is a Lecturer in the Department of Interior Design and Upholstery Technology and a researcher in Wood Science and Technology with expertise in furniture production, wood processing, and interior design technology. His work focuses on the performance and utilisation of wood and wood-based materials, with particular interest in sustainable applications within the furniture and construction industries. Mr. Narh holds a PhD and MPhil in Wood Science and Technology from University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Wood Science and Technology and a Certificate in Education from the same institution. In addition, he obtained an HND in Furniture Design and Production from Accra Technical University and Advanced and Craft Certificates in Carpentry and Joinery from Kpando Technical Institute. He currently lectures courses in Interior Design & Technology and Furniture Design & Production, contributing to practical and industry-oriented training in furniture and wood technology education. Mr. Narh has contributed to research in timber properties, furniture production, machining qualities of wood species, and wood preservation practices in Ghana. His publications reflect a strong interest in sustainable wood utilisation and the development of local materials for furniture and housing applications.
