Kenneth Kumasenu Fiati is a Lecturer in the Department of Interior Design and Upholstery Technology under the Faculty of Built Environment. His academic and professional interests span interior furniture design, wood science, circular economy practices, and sustainable energy solutions, with a strong commitment to practical and industry-focused training.
Mr. Fiati holds an MPhil in Wood Science and Technology from the University of Education, Winneba, Kumasi Campus, an MA in Smart Design from Nottingham Trent University, and an HND in Furniture Design and Production from Accra Technical University. He is currently pursuing a PhD at LIUTEBM University.
He previously served as Programme Coordinator for the Interior Design and Upholstery Technology Department and has also held leadership roles within the Technical Universities Teachers Association of Ghana at both the national and local levels.
His teaching focuses on practical and technology-driven aspects of interior design and furniture production, including workshops, demonstrations, and skills training for students in the Department.
Mr. Fiati’s research interests include sustainable cooking fuels in Ghana, wood science, circular economy systems, and green interior design. His recent publications explore innovative and environmentally sustainable approaches to furniture and interior design, including the use of recycled tyres in urban furniture production and the application of bamboo products for green interiors.
