ATU, Fan Milk PLC Launch Partnership to Advance Industry Learning and Career Opportunities

Accra Technical University (ATU) and Fan Milk PLC have launched a strategic partnership to expand industry learning opportunities and strengthen career pathways for students.

The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Monday, July 27, 2026, will give students greater access to practical industry experience, graduate development programmes and employment opportunities, while strengthening collaboration between the University and industry.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Amevi Acakpovi described the partnership as another important step in the University’s commitment to producing graduates with the practical skills and industry experience needed in today’s workplace. He noted that the collaboration reflects ATU’s continued focus on building strong relationships with industry to improve student employability and support national development.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of Fan Milk PLC, Human Resource Manager for Ghana and Francos, Mrs. Sylvia Esi Yawson, said the partnership forms part of the company’s talent development and corporate social responsibility agenda. She explained that the collaboration will provide students with hands-on industry exposure, graduate development opportunities and recognition for outstanding students in Refrigeration Technology, a discipline that supports Fan Milk’s operations. She added that ATU’s reputation for producing practically trained graduates made the University a natural partner.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Tina D. Wemegah, welcomed the partnership, describing it as a long-awaited collaboration that will create meaningful opportunities for students and strengthen the University’s engagement with industry.

Fan Milk PLC is one of Ghana’s leading manufacturers of dairy and fruit-based products and has been serving consumers for more than six decades. A member of the Danone Group, the company is widely recognised for its strong commitment to quality, innovation, sustainability and talent development across West Africa.
The company has a long-standing commitment to developing young talent through sponsorships, internships, graduate development programmes, national service opportunities and university collaborations.
The partnership with ATU builds on this commitment by creating new opportunities for students to gain industry experience, strengthen their practical skills and transition more successfully into the workforce.
