Engineering students at Accra Technical University (ATU) will soon have greater opportunities to learn in real industrial settings through a new partnership with DT Engineering Systems Limited, a Ghanaian engineering company that provides technical solutions for the manufacturing and packaging industry.

The collaboration will give students access to structured internships and practical training within the company’s operations, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge to real engineering challenges while gaining experience with modern engineering systems and industry-standard processes. The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the University’s Council Chamber.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Amevi Acakpovi described the collaboration as another step in the University’s commitment to producing graduates who combine academic excellence with practical industry experience. He noted that strong partnerships with industry are essential to preparing students for the workplace and ensuring they graduate with the skills employers are looking for.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Tina D. Wemegah, described the partnership as an important addition to the Faculty’s practical training efforts. She noted that the collaboration will expose students to modern engineering practices, strengthen their technical competencies and provide valuable workplace experience that complements classroom instruction.
Speaking on behalf of DT Engineering Systems Limited, the Head of Human Resources, Mrs. Faustina Yeboah Quarshie, said the company is committed to supporting the development of future engineers through structured industrial training and workplace mentorship. She noted that students will gain practical exposure to engineering solutions used in manufacturing and packaging, helping them build the technical skills and confidence required to succeed in the industry.
