Dr. Mrs. Emma Donkor, a distinguished fashion designer, educator, and scholar, brings over 25 years of experience to her role. Her wealth of knowledge has been instrumental in teaching, training, and mentoring aspiring fashion designers and interior decorators. She holds a PhD in Arts and Culture from the University of Education, Winneba, and specialises in fashion design, textiles, and garment construction.

As a senior faculty member at Accra Technical University (ATU), Dr. Donkor has demonstrated her leadership abilities through several key roles. She has served as the Head of the Department of Fashion Design and Textiles, departmental examinations officer, and academic counselor. Her supervision of numerous student projects and her pivotal role in designing academic and ceremonial gowns for the university(ATU), including the first academic gowns for the Rector and Registrar, are testament to her leadership skills. Her contributions also include organising renowned fashion shows, such as the Accra Technical University Fashion Show, which celebrate African heritage and culture.

Dr. Donkor’s research is a significant part of her academic contributions. Her work focuses on evaluating and advancing fashion education and production units in Ghanaian institutions. Her research interests span millinery and accessories, fashion accessory design, textiles, and dyeing. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and actively participates in workshops and conferences, where she shares her knowledge and insights to enhance technical education and foster innovation in fashion design.
