Dr. Joseph Dadzie is the current head of the Computer Science department and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from KNUST, where he specialized in Tropical Mathematics and Combinatorial Optimization. With over 20 years of academic experience, he has taught and supervised students across institutions including ATU, Ashesi University, University of Ghana, and KNUST. His teaching spans courses in Statistics and Mathematics, such as Biostatistics, Optimization, Multivariate Analysis, and Numerical Methods.
He has held key leadership roles, including Head of Department for both Computer Science and Applied Mathematics & Statistics. As Head of Planning, he was instrumental in ATU’s transition to a Technical University, contributing to policy, curriculum, and strategic development. He has also chaired and participated in numerous university committees focused on academic planning, sports and recreation, student welfare, policy development, and institutional governance. Dr. Dadzie serves as a programme assessor for Statistics at the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), supporting national quality assurance and accreditation.
An active researcher, Dr. Dadzie has published in areas including forecasting, factor analysis, classification, and statistical applications in education and policy. He served as the Statistics Editor of the APT Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and has presented papers at several international conferences. He is a member of the Ghana Statistical Association.
Beyond academics, Dr. Dadzie co-composed ATU’s anthem and founded both the University and Staff Choirs. He has served on numerous committees related to academic planning, welfare, and institutional governance.
