Accra Technical University is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Felix Y.H. Kutsanedzie, as the Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor effective Monday, March 11th, 2024.
The decision was made by the University’s Governing Council during its 120th Regular Council Meeting held on March 7th and 8th 2024.
Prof. Kutsanedzie, a distinguished scholar in the engineering, field brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Agricultural Mechanization and Bio-Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Food and Biological Engineering from Jiangsu University (JU), China. Additionally, he holds an Advanced Diploma in Project Management from the Institute of Commercial Management, London, UK.
As a professor in agricultural and biosystems engineering at Accra Technical University, Prof. Kutsanedzie has demonstrated his commitment to advancing education and research. With twelve years of teaching experience at the tertiary level, he has mentored countless students and contributed significantly to the academic community. His research interests span many areas, including microelectromechanical machines (MEMS), sensor fabrication, nanomaterial synthesis, bioenergy, food processing, and project management.
Prof. Kutsanedzie’s leadership extends beyond the classroom and laboratory. He has served in various administrative roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Head of the Research and Innovation Centre and Drone and Innovative Technologies Development Centre. He has also been actively involved in committees and professional organizations, such as the American Society for Agricultural and Biological Engineers, the National Black Engineers Society, and the Society for Biological Engineers.
In addition to his academic and administrative contributions, Prof. Kutsanedzie is a prolific researcher and writer, with numerous publications in reputable journals and conferences. He has also served as an editor and reviewer for prestigious publications, further enhancing his reputation as a leading expert in his field.
In his new role as Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kutsanedzie will continue to uphold the university’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and community engagement. His vision, leadership, and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and advancement of Accra Technical University.
