ATU Alumnus Donates Books To Alma Mater

Miss Enwere Adaobi, an alumnus of Accra Technical University has donated educational books on various courses to the University. Miss Adaobi, a 2018(SLT) graduate and also a member of Efiiwe, a Non- governmental Organization, said as part of their organization’s mission, they supply books to schools all over Africa from the United States of America (USA) to enrich their reading culture. “Students must have vast knowledge in their field of study and I therefore see it appropriate to also gather some books to give to the institution that trained me” she added.
The Dean of Students Affairs, Mr. Michael A-A Okae Adow, who received the books on behalf of the University expressed confidence that the books would go a long way to boost the knowledge of students in their respective fields of study for national development. “These books will go a long way in complimenting the knowledge acquired by the students who will in turn give back to society”, he added.
Mrs. Selikem Sebuava Dovlo, a Senior Assistant Librarian, present at the event, commended Miss Adaobi for her good and generous gesture.
The Public Affairs Director, Ms. Fausta K. Ganaa, also applauded Miss Adaobi and urged her to attend Alumni meetings to see how she could contribute her quota in other ways. She also touched on the University's upcoming 70th anniversary in November, saying, she would expect the alumni to play a bigger role in the celebration of the anniversary.
The books donated covers engineering, statistics, science and general subjects.
