ATU Explores Academic Partnership with Northeastern University

The Management of Accra Technical University (ATU) has met with a delegation from Northeastern University to discuss potential collaborations in academics, research, and staff developme

The meeting, held at the University’s Council Chamber, focused on strengthening international partnerships and creating new academic opportunities for students and staff.

Discussions centered on student recruitment and enrollment at Northeastern University, where ATU students could gain admission to pursue further studies. The talks also explored exchange programmes between the two institutions, as well as PhD opportunities for ATU staff an area the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Amevi Acakpovi, expressed strong interest in.
Leading the delegation, Mr. Frederico Ling, Assistant Vice President of Northeastern University, highlighted the institution’s long-standing commitment to international education. He noted that the University currently hosts over 250 international students, with Ghana featuring prominently among them. He added that the team’s visit aimed to identify practical ways to make the collaboration mutually beneficial to both universities.

Professor Acakpovi indicated ATU’s readiness to partner with reputable international universities to expand its academic reach. He cited existing collaborations that have yielded significant results for both staff and students and expressed optimism that a new partnership with Northeastern University would help ATU students achieve their academic and professional aspirations.
