The four-year comprehensive B-Tech (Hons) in Marketing programme is underpinned by a competency-based training philosophy aimed at adopting a multi-disciplinary approach in training and preparing students for a broad range of careers in business and marketing in this digital age. The programme will equip students with the knowledge and skills required in using both traditional marketing and digital strategies. The relevance of this programme, therefore, rests in its potential to provide students with the ability to contribute to organizational growth and become entrepreneurs by leveraging knowledge gained in taking advantage of emerging technologies to fulfil growing consumer needs in digital environments.
This BTech in Marketing (Hons) programme provides career opportunities in emerging ICT- enabled employments in financial, hospitality, tourism, local governance and telecommunications sectors and graduates in roles such as digital marketing managers, marketers, social media managers, e-mail marketing specialists, content strategists, e-commerce specialists, technology consultants, management consultants, and Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation specialists.
Admission Requirement
A) WASSCE Certificate Holders
A pass in the Core English and Core Mathematics; in addition to a pass in one of the following Core Subjects: Integrated Science, Social Studies/Life Skills.
They must also have passes in three relevant elective subjects. The aggregate score for the core and elective subjects must not exceed 36 (A1 to C6).
B) SSSCE Certificate Holders
A pass in the Core English and Core Mathematics; in addition to a pass in one of the following Core Subjects: Integrated Science, Social Studies/Life Skills. They must also have passes in three relevant elective subjects. The aggregate score for the core and elective subjects must not exceed 24 (A to D).
C). G.C.E Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificate Holders
Credit Passes in at least Five (5) Subjects (including English Language, Mathematics and a Science Subject) in West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) G.C.E. ‘O’ Level or School Certificate Examinations, and three (3) Passes at the G.C.E Advanced Level. Two ‘A’ Level passes at grade ‘C’ or better will also be accepted. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.
D). GBCE Certificate Holders
Credit Passes (A – D) in Six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective Subjects.
E). Mature Students (25 years or over)
Applicants must pass ATU’s Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations and will be admitted to Level 100.
The aim is to provide the students with specialized knowledge and skills in logistics and transport management to meet the basic need of developing professional logistics and transport practitioners to international standards, but set in the Ghanaian context. It also aims at using practical case studies, field trips and industrial visits to develop practical decisionmaking skills to enhance the learning process. It also aims to ensure that students have a sound understanding of the key issues affecting the planning, management and financing of transportas well as logistics in developed and developing countries.
These skills may include simulation, modelling, forecasting, problem-solving, entrepreneurial and negotiation skills in moving loads, delivery speed, service quality, operations cost, the usage of facilities and energy saving.

Education, Agriculture and also third-party logistics companies, organizations that sell directly to consumers (retailers and supermarkets), Transportation companies like VVIP, State Transport Company (STC) Limited, Marine companies, Aviation, Shipping Companies (Clearing agencies etc) Freight and logistics consultancies.
The HND programme is a three-year duration programme ran by the department leading to the award of a Higher National Diploma certificate, awarded by the National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX). The objectives of this programme are:
The BTech Marketing programme is a two-year post-Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme that will run over a period of four sixteen-week semesters and thirty weeks of vacation. There will be a supervised Work Place Learning (Industrial Attachment) for twenty-four weeks at the end of the third semester. Students will be awarded marks for the attachment as contained in the University’s Industrial Attachment Policy approved by the Academic Board.
The BTech Marketing is geared towards equipping students with both practical training and theoretical knowledge with a focus on building up a solid portfolio of work and experience. Students would be introduced to all the fields of Marketing. Students would also be expected to combine research, planning and management with creativity to develop the best possible campaigns for their clients and develop a sound grasp of general business principles and marketing practices while exploring the modern technology and tools that can be used to market more effectively. They will be introduced to buyer behaviour and some fundamental business concepts such as accounting, finance and business law.
The programme would look at the different strategies companies use to promote their products, the modern methods of marketing brought on by the internet and other technological innovations, how branding works and the ethical side to marketing.
