Date: February 3, 2023

Accra Technical University (ATU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Centre for Image Data Technologies and Communication Skills, Benin as part of ATU’s efforts to achieve its vision of being the top technical university with regional influence.

The signing of the deed came off at the University’s Council Chamber on Thursday, February 3, 2023.

The agreement will allow for cooperation between the two institutions’ academic programmes, fostering cordial relations, mutual understanding, and long-lasting and fruitful academic exchanges between faculty and students.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor of ATU, Professor Samuel Nii Odai, was elated that the University’s regional education outreach it embarked on in some selected countries in the subregion was yielding results. He pointed out that ATU was ready to cooperate and work to ensure that the goals enshrined in the agreement are met.

Mr. Didier Toulassi, head of the  International Centre for Image Data Technologies and Communication Skills thanked ATU for the opportunity to collaborate. He added that although the two institutions used two different official languages for instructions, language was not going to hinder the agreement between the two institutions. “We speak French in Benin, you speak English in Ghana but the language should not be a barrier. You can learn from us, and we can also learn from you,” he intimated.

Professor Odai signed on behalf of ATU whereas Mr. Didier Toulassi did on behalf of his institution. The two looked forward to a fruitful relationship.
