ATUAA Inaugurates Ghana Armed Forces School of Ordnance Chapter

The Alumni Association of Accra Technical University (ATUAA) has outdoored an inaugural eight-member newly elected executives for the Alumni Chapter of the Ghana Armed Forces School of Ordnance. This momentous occasion was celebrated with a grand ceremony held at the School of Ordnance premises on Thursday, November 23, 2023. The ceremony was led by Mr. David Ayisala, Global Chairman of the Alumni Association.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Acting Vice-Chancellor Accra of Technical University Prof. Amevi Acapkovi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the newly elected executives. “Your willingness to serve your alma is commendable and I am confident that you will carry a legacy of excellence that defines both ATU and the School of Ordnance,” he said. He continued to urge the alumni chapter to collectively champion a legacy project to benefit generations to come.

In addition, the Deputy Commandant of the Training and Doctrines Command (TRADOC), Brigadier General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu, who was also the Guest of Honour, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Acting Vice-Chancellor of ATU for his guidance and advice. “History is made today, and we are honoured to swear in the first- ever executives of the school’s chapter of ATU Alumni”. He added. Brigadier General Gbetanu praised both the ATU and ATUAA for their dedication to enhancing the established agreements between the institutions. He expressed confidence that the newly inducted executives and the GAF Alumni Association would uphold the dignities of service and meet the expectations set before them. The ATUAA donated a projector to the School of Ordnance, emphasising their commitment to supporting educational initiatives of their alma mater.

The inauguration ceremony had in attendance the Registrar of ATU, Deans, Directors, lecturers, executives from the Global Alumni Association, and representatives from the ATU and Gambia’s Local Chapters.

Senior ranked officers, officers, and members of the Ghana Armed Forces School of Ordnance, signified the broad community engagement and supported this historic occasion.
