Dr. Michael Nii Sanka Ansah is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering at Accra Technical University. He is also a Researcher and Nuclear Security Engineer with expertise in renewable energy technologies, nuclear energy systems, and radiological facility protection.
Dr. Ansah holds a PhD in Nuclear, Thermal and Renewable Energy Engineering from Tomsk Polytechnic University, where he also obtained an MSc in Nuclear Engineering. He earned a BSc in Applied Physics from University for Development Studies. He is a member of the World Institute for Nuclear Security, the Ghana Institute of Physics, and the Astronomical Society of Ghana.
At Accra Technical University, Dr. Ansah teaches courses including Introduction to Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering Laboratory, and Electrical/Electronic Measurement and Instrumentation. He has also lectured at Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia, where he taught courses in nuclear facility physical protection systems and nuclear security technologies. In addition, he has facilitated specialised training programmes under ROSATOM’s Train-the-Trainers initiative.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Ansah undertook his national service at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, contributing to nuclear safety and radiation protection initiatives. He was also recognised by Tomsk Polytechnic University for outstanding research achievement.
His research interests span renewable energy technologies, nuclear physics and technologies, nuclear power plant design and operation, radiation protection, nuclear security systems, and smart grid optimisation.
Dr. Ansah has published extensively in reputable international journals, including Energy Reports, Progress in Nuclear Energy, Materials Letters, Utilities Policy, and the International Journal of Nuclear Security. His research work focuses on nuclear energy development, renewable energy systems, and the safety and security of radiological facilities.
