Engr. Futa Osumanu is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering at Accra Technical University. He specialises in telecommunications, electrical power systems, electronics, and automation, with a strong interest in engineering innovation and emerging technologies.
Engr. Osumanu holds an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from Ghana Technology University College (affiliated with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), a BSc in Applied Electronics and Systems Engineering from Regent University College of Science and Technology, and an HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Accra Polytechnic. He has also completed a PhD in Engineering Management at the University of Johannesburg and is awaiting graduation.
A member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana, Engr. Osumanu combines academic scholarship with active professional engagement.
His teaching portfolio covers project supervision, academic counselling, and the coordination of non-HND programmes. He has also served as a Project Supervisor and as an Examiner and Assistant Chief Examiner at the Technical Examinations Unit.
Engr. Osumanu’s research focuses on electrical power systems, telecommunications, control systems, automation, and emerging smart technologies. His current scholarly interests extend to sustainable engineering solutions, artificial intelligence in engineering education, smart metering systems, and advanced communication technologies.
Through journal publications and conference presentations, he continues to contribute to discussions on sustainable technological development, smart energy systems, and next-generation communication technologies, reinforcing his commitment to engineering innovation and industry-relevant research.
