A. ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

I.      West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects, namely Applied Electricity, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Technical Drawing, ICT, Electronics, and Biology

II.    Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with a minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Applied Electricity, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics and Technical Drawing. ICT, Electronics, and Biology

III.   Certificate II APPLICANTS (TECHNICAL SCHOOL GRADUANDS -CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV.                General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Applicants with passes in three (3) subjects including Mathematics and Physics. A pass in Chemistry will be an advantage, at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject

IV. Technician Applicants

·         EET Part One certificate plus EET II certificates

OR

·         Pass in Ordinary Technician Diploma

OR

·         City and Guilds Technician Certificate and Technician Diploma plus Advance Technician Diploma Certificate

OR

·         EET I Certificate plus credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science

OR

Intermediate Certificate plus credit passes in SSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science. 

V. Mature Applicant

   The mature applicant must:

a. Be at least 25 years old

b. Show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date, which is at least 5 years old at the time of application.

c. In addition, applicants must pass the Mature Entrance Examinations to be conducted in English Language, Mathematics, General Knowledge in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

d. The mature candidate must have relevant working experience in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and related subjects.

VI.  INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.

International applicants are also requested to acquire a Non-Citizen Ghana card as a pre-requisite for regularisation of admission. 

B. CIVIL ENGINEERING

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects including Elective Mathematics, Physics, and any other elective subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Building Construction, Technical Drawing and ICT.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three elective subjects including Elective Mathematics, Physics, and any other elective subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, ICT.

III. CERTIFICATE II APPLICANTS (TECHNICAL SCHOOL GRADUANDS -CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Candidates must have five (5) credits at Ordinary Level in GCE including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject AND passes in GCE ‘A’ Level Physics, Mathematics and any other Elective subject.

V. Technician Applicant

Candidates must at least have CTC II. Candidates will be required to do a bridging course.

        OR

CTC I Certificate plus credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science

        OR

Intermediate Certificate and credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science

VI.  Mature Candidates

  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Candidates may be required to pass a written and oral examination after pre-qualification exercise.
  • Mature candidates must have attempted any of the requirements stated from I to IV.

VII. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.

International applicants are also requested to acquire Non-Citizen Ghana card as a pre-requisite for regularisation of admission.

C. WATER AND SANITATION ENGINEERING

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Elective Mathematics, Geography and General Agriculture. 

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects including Chemistry, Geography, Biology, Elective Mathematics and General Agriculture.

III. Certificate II APPLICANTS (TECHNICAL SCHOOL GRADUANDS -CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Applicants with passes in three (3) subjects including Mathematics/Biology, Physics, General Agriculture and Chemistry at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject.

V. Technician Applicants

     Technician Applicants with CTC II certificate;

        OR

CTC I Certificate plus credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science

         OR

Intermediate  Certificate plus credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science

VI. Diploma Holders

Holders of Diploma in Civil Engineering with one-year relevant working experience will be offered unconditional admission into the programme;

VII. Mature Candidates

    The mature applicant must:

  • Be at least 25 years old by 30th June 2023.
  • Show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date, which is at least 5 years old at the time of application;
  • In addition, applicants must pass the Mature Entrance Examinations to be conducted in English Language, Mathematics, General Knowledge.
  • Mature candidates should have worked in a relevant Water and Sanitation industry.

VIII. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.

III. General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘A’ Level Candidates

Candidates must have five (5) credits at Ordinary Level in GCE including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science subject, and passes in GCE ‘A’ Level Relevant Subjects.

IV. Technician Applicants

  1. Candidates must have six credits in NABPTEX/TEU Examinations including three (3) core (NABPTEX CERTIFICATE II) and three (3) electives (TEU) subjects
  2. Passes in Refrigeration, Motor Vehicle, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering Technician Part I in addition to passes in English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated science
  • Pass in Refrigeration Technician II with passes in all subjects. OR
  1. Pass in Motor Vehicle Technician Part II with passes in all subjects. OR
  2. Pass in Mechanical Engineering Technician Part II with passes in all subjects. OR
  3. Passes in Electrical Engineering Technician Part II with passes in all subjects. OR
  • Technical applicants with Technician Part III in the fields stated in iii, iv, v, and vi are qualified to be admitted at level 200. 

V. Higher National Diploma

HND in Automotive and Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division will be offered admission into the programme at level 300 for a two-year top-up. Other Diploma qualifications assessed by the National Accreditation Board to be equivalent to HND may be similarly considered.

VI. Diploma

A diploma in Automotive and Mechanical Engineering will be offered admission into the programme at level 200 for a three (3) year top-up.

VII. Mature Applicants

Candidates applying for admission to the B.Tech. programme as matured applicants would have to

  1. Show prove of WASSCE/SSSCE
  2. Have some background knowledge or working experience in Automobile Engineering
  • Be 25 years or more at the time of application.

The candidates would be required to pass a written and oral examination after a pre-qualification exercise.

VIII. International and Other Applicants:

International applicants (Baccalaureate and Others) may apply with the content of programmes equivalent to Ghanaian WASSCE/SSSCE or the Ghanaian ‘A’ Level programmes. Credit passes of the international applicants (Baccalaureate and Others) shall meet requirements for WASSCE/SSSCE and GCE ‘A’ Level with equivalent certificate.

E. AUTOMOTATIVE ENGINEERING

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

WASSCE applicants must have six (6) credit passes (A1-C6) in all subjects including English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, and any other three (3) of the following combinations that should consist of at least two mandatory subjects and one optional subject.

F. CYBER SECURITY

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science in addition to three (3) elective subjects namely Elective Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, ICT). For non-science students, Grade C6 or better in elective mathematics is required.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and Grade D or better in 3 elective subjects in General Science (Elective Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology). For non-science students, Grade D or better in elective mathematics is required.

III. Certificate II Applicants (Technical School Graduands – CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Applicants with passes in three (3) subjects including Mathematics/Biology, Physics and  Chemistry  at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject

V. Technician Applicants

  • Technician Applicants with EET I and II certificate (old or new scheme)
  • Intermediate Certificate plus credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science

VI. ABCE

A minimum of Three (3)  passes one (1) of which should be grade D or better in Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) in Information Technology (WAEC) plus four (4) GBCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Science.

VII. Diploma

A two-year Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized higher institution will be admitted to level 200.

VIII. Mature Candidates

 The mature applicant must:

  • Be at least 25 years old by 30th June 2023.
  • Show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date, which is at least 5 years old at the time of application;
  • In addition, applicants must pass the Mature Entrance Examinations to be conducted in English Language, Mathematics, General Knowledge.
  • Have reasonable education and work experience in the areas of Cyber Security, Computer Science, and Information Technology or any other relevant area. 
  • Holders of Teachers’ Post-Secondary School Certificate (3 years) would be required to apply as Mature Candidates

IX. International Applicants

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.

G. INTERIOR DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies and at least three (3) Credit passes in any elective subject.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies and C6 in any three (3) elective subject.

III. CERTIFICATE II APPLICANTS (TECHNICAL SCHOOL GRADUANDS -CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV. GCE ‘A’ Level Applicants

Five (5) GCE ‘O” Level credits including English Language and Mathematics in addition to Three (3) GCE ‘A’ Level  passes one (1) of which should be grade D or better.

V. Technician Applicants

  • CTC I certificate plus CTC II certificates

OR

  • Credit Pass in Ordinary Technician Diploma

OR

  • City and Guilds Technician Certificate and Technician Diploma plus Advance Technician Diploma Certificate

OR

  • CTC I Certificate plus credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science.                                                                                                                    OR
  • Intermediate Certificate plus credit passes in SSSCE/WASSCE English Language and Core Mathematics and Integrated Science

H. ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE ANALYTICS

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies/Life Skills and at least three (3) Credit passes in any elective subject.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies or Life Skills and C6 in any three (3) elective subject. .

III. Certificate II Applicants (Technical School Graduands – CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV. GCE ‘A’ Level Applicants

Five (5) GCE ‘O” Level credits including English Language and Mathematics and a Science Subject in addition to Three (3) GCE ‘A’ Level  passes two (2) of which should be grade C or better. A pass in General Paper is an advantage.

V. DBS Applicants

Applicants must have credit passes in DBS subjects.

and

FOUR (5) GCE ‘O’ Level / GBCE / SSSCE / WASSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics.

VI. Ghana Commercial Examination (ABCE APPLICANTS)

Applicants must have three (3) credit passes in RSA III/ABCE. Two (2) of the passes must be D or better

 and

Five (5) GBCE or Five (5) GCE ‘O’ LEVEL/SSSCE/WASSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics and a Science Subject. .

VII. Other Applicants

Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Accountancy plus four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level / GBCE / SSSCE / WASSCE credit passes including English Language and Mathematics.

or

Ghana Accounting Technician (GAT) with a minimum of Part I plus four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level / GBCE / SSSCE / WASSCE credit passes including English Language and Mathematics.                                                        OR

Level I of ACCA or ICA (Gh.) plus Four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level / GBCE / SSSCE / WASSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics.

VIII. Diploma Programmes

Applicants with Diploma in Computerized Accounting, Diploma in Banking Technology and Accounting and Diploma in Business Administration with minimum of second-class lower division will be admitted into Level 200. Applicants with other relevant Diploma qualifications with a minimum of second-class lower division will be admitted to Level 200.

IX. Mature Candidates

 The mature applicant must:

  • Be at least 25 years old
  • Show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date, which is at least 5 years old at the time of application;
  • In addition, applicants must pass the Mature Entrance Examinations to be conducted in English Language, Mathematics, General Knowledge.
  • Holders of Teachers’ Post-Secondary School Certificate (3 years) would be required to apply as Mature Candidates.

X. International Applicants

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies/Life Skills and at least three (3) Credit passes in any elective subject.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies or Life Skills and three (3) Credit passes in any elective subject.

III. Certificate II Applicants  (Technical School Graduands – CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV. GCE ‘A’ Level Applicants

Five (5) GCE ‘O” Level credits including English Language and Mathematics and a

Science Subject in addition to Three (3) GCE ‘A’ Level passes two (2) of which should be grade C or better. A pass in General Paper is an advantage.

V. DBS APPLICANTS

Applicants must have credit passes in DBS subjects.

FOUR (5) GCE ‘O’ Level / GBCE / SSSCE / WASSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics.

VI. Ghana Commercial Examination (ABCE Applicants)

Applicants must have three (3) credit passes in RSA III/ABCE. Two (2) of the passes must be D or better

 and

Five (5) GBCE or Five (5) GCE ‘O’ LEVEL/SSSCE/WASSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics and a Science Subject.

VII. HND Applicants

  • Holders of HND Purchasing and Supply will start from level 300;
  • HND from other Disciplines should have not less than a Second class lower to start from Level 200.

VIII. Mature Applicants

Applicants who have attained the age of 25 years or above at the time of application and have pass in three (3) GCE ‘O Level and WASSCE/SSSCE in addition to passing an Entrance Examination and /or Interview.

IX. Advanced Diploma

Applicants from the School of Ordnance will start from level 300 and DIPLOMA holders from School of Ordnance will start at level 200 and Certificate and Advance certificate holders will start at level 100.

X. Professional Qualification

  • CIPS foundation joins at Level 100;
  • Advanced Level start from Level 200;
  • Chartered member start at Level 300;
  • CILT starts at Level 200; DILT starts at Level 300.

XI. International Applicants 

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. J. PUBLIC RELATIONS WITH DIGITAL COMMUNICATION

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies/Life Skills and at least three (3) Credit passes in any elective subject.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

IV. GCE ‘A’ Level Applicants

Five (5) GCE ‘O” Level credits including English Language and Mathematics and a Science Subject in addition to Three (3) GCE ‘A’ Level passes two (2) of which should be grade C or better. A pass in General Paper is an advantage.

V. Ghana Commercial Examination (ABCE Applicants)

Applicants must have three (3) credit passes in RSA III/ABCE. Two (2) of the passes must be D or better

Five (5) GBCE or Five (5) GCE ‘O’ LEVEL/SSSCE/WASSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics and a Science Subject.

VI. HND Applicants 

HND Holders in Communication-related programmes will start from level 300; HND from other disciplines shall undergo a bridging course prior to acceptance to level 300.

VII. Diploma in Public Relations Holders

Applicants with Diploma in Public Relation and Diploma in Business Administration will be admitted into Level 200. Applicants with other relevant Diploma qualifications with a minimum of second class lower division will be admitted to Level 200

VIII. Mature Applicants

Applicants who have attained the age of 25 years or above at the time of application and have pass in three (3) GCE ‘O Level and WASSCE/SSSCE in addition to passing an Entrance Examination and /or Interview.

IX. Mature Applicants

who have attained the age of 25 years or above at the time of application and have pass in three (3) GCE ‘O Level and WASSCE/SSSCE in addition to passing an Entrance Examination and /or Interview.

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Elective Mathematics will be admitted to level 100 of the BTech Science Laboratory Technology Programme.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) to be admitted to level 100

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Elective Mathematics will be admitted to Level 100 of the BTech Science Laboratory Technology Programme.

III. Other WASSCE/SSSCE Backgrounds

   Applicants with minimum grade of C6/D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science, and with minimum grade of C6/D or better in any three (3) electives, that is in Chemistry, Biology, Food and Nutrition, Elective Mathematics, and Physics will be considered for admission to Level 100.

VI. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level to be admitted to level 100

Applicants with passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject for Science students will be admitted to level 100 of the BTech Science Laboratory Technology Programme.

VII. Top-up Applicants 

  • Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology may be admitted to level 300

Applicants with the 3-year Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (HND SLT) with CGPA of not less than 2.5 (Second Class Lower Division) from a recognized institution may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech Science Laboratory Technology Programme.

  • Diploma in Radiography / Diagnostic Imaging / Sonography / Science Laboratory Technology or any other relevant diploma programme may be admitted to level 300 after passing an interview and bridging course examination

Applicants with a requisite 3-year diploma in radiography, diagnostic imaging, sonography, Science Laboratory Technology (radiographer technicians) or any other relevant diploma programme with CGPA of not less than 2.5 (Second Class Lower Division) from a recognized institution accredited by the Allied Health Professions Council, with a minimum 1-year working experience in the health sector, may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech Science Laboratory Technology Programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination which will comprise of Level 100 and 200 courses to make up for the deficiency in the transcripts of the applicants.

VII. Mature Students’ Entry

The applicant must:

  • Be at least 25 years old.
  • Show proof of age with any legitimate documentary proof of birth date.
  • Pass mature students’ entrance examinations.

M. MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE

LEVEL 100: MORNING AND EVENING SESSIONS

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Elective Mathematics will be admitted to level 100 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Elective Mathematics will be admitted to Level 100 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme.

III. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Applicants with passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject will be admitted to level 100 of the B.Tech Medical Laboratory Science Programme.

2. ADMISSION TO LEVEL 200: EVENING SESSION

I. Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology

Applicants with the 3-year Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (HND SLT) at least Second Class Lower from a recognized institution may be considered for admission to level 200 (Evening Session) of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme after passing an interview.

 

3. ADMISSION TO LEVEL 300: WEEKEND SESSION

I. Bachelor of Technology Science Laboratory Technology

Applicants with a Bachelor of Technology, Science Laboratory Technology with at least Second Class Lower from the Accra Technical University and other recognized institutions with working experience in the health sector, may be considered for admission to level 300 of the B.Tech Medical Laboratory Science programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination.

II. Bachelor of Science Qualifications

Applicants with a 4-year Bachelor of Science in either Biological Science, Biochemistry, Applied Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Human Biology, Laboratory Technology or other life sciences qualification at least Second Class Lower from a recognized institution with working experience in the health sector, may be considered for admission to level 300 of the B.Tech Medical Laboratory Science programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination.

III. Bachelor of Technology Science Laboratory Technology (Clinical Biochemistry Option)
Applicants with the Bachelor of Technology Science Laboratory Technology (Clinical Biochemistry Option) from the Accra Technical University and other recognized institutions with a minimum of 2- year working experience in the health sector may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech. Medical Laboratory Science programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination.

IV. Higher National Diploma / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology

Applicants with a 3-year Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) with at least Second Class Lower from a recognized institution accredited by the Allied Health Professions Council with working experience in the health sector, may be considered for admission to level 300 of the BTech Medical Laboratory Science Programme after passing an interview and bridging course examination.

N. MEDICAL  IMAGING TECHNOLOGY

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Physics and Elective Mathematics, and any of the following; Biology, Chemistry, General Agriculture and ICT.

II. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)

Applicants with minimum grade of D or better in three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three (3) elective subjects namely Physics and Elective Mathematics, and any of the following; Biology, Chemistry and General Agriculture.

 III. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level

Applicants with passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English, Mathematics and a Science subject

O. applied statistics

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Applicants with a minimum grade of C6 or better in three (3) core subjects, namely; English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies as well as any three elective subjects including at least one of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Applied Electricity, Technical Drawing, Economics, Geography, Accounting and Financial Accounting.

II. SSSCE Applicants

Applicants with a minimum grade of D or better in three core subjects; namely, English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies as well as any three elective subjects including at least one of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Applied Electricity, Technical Drawing, Economics, Geography, Accounting and Financial Accounting.

III. Certificate II Applicants (Technical School Graduands – CTVET)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

III. GCE Applicants

Applicants with passes in three Advanced Level (A/L) subjects including at least one of the following: Mathematics, Physics Chemistry, Economics, Geography or Accounting. A pass in Mathematics will be an advantage and at least one of the passes should be Grade D or better in addition to having credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary-Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.

IV. Mature Candidates

 The mature applicant must:

  • Be at least 25 years old by 30th June 2023.
  • Show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date, which is at least 5 years old at the time of application;
  • In addition, applicants must pass the Mature Entrance Examinations to be conducted in English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
  • Have reasonable education and work experience in any relevant area
  • Holders of Teachers’ Post-Secondary School Certificate (3 years) would be required to apply as Mature Candidates

V. International Applicants

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of proficiency in the English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.

P. CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT/BUILDING CONTROL SURVEY/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

I. West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)/SSSCE Applicants

Six (6) credits (A–C) and (A1–C6) in all subjects including English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, and at least three (3) of the subjects must be Credit or better.

II. Ordinary Technician Diploma 

Six (6) passes in Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD) courses.

III. Construction Technician Course ( CTC II – Old or CTC III – New)

Credit passes or better in three (3) core subjects namely; English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess three (3) credit passes or better in three relevant elective subjects.

III. Higher National Diploma (HND) Applicants

HND Certificate in Building Technology with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division are eligible to join at level 300. Applicant must submit the application form along with the HND certificate and transcript.

IV. Mature Candidates

 The mature applicant must:

  • Be at least 25 years old.
  • Must possess five (5) credits at the O’Level.
  • In addition, applicants must pass the Mature Entrance Examinations to be conducted in English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
  • Must have shown interest in the area of construction with a minimum of five (5) years working experience. 

V. International Applicants

International applicants may be admitted based on qualifications from their home countries for which equivalence shall be determined by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (CTVET) of Ghana and submitted to the University. Evidence of proficiency in the English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.
