Dr. Mrs. Cynthia Oduro-Nyarko, currently the Head of the Department of Management and Public Administration, has over 18 years of working experience as a university lecturer with a secretaryship, entrepreneurship, and management background. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Entrepreneurship Management from Universidad Empresarial de Costa Rica (UNEM). She also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Development and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Secretaryship from the University of Cape Coast. She also holds a Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) in Secretaryship from Takoradi Technical University and a Certificate in Education (Cert.Ed.) from the University of Education, Winneba.

She joined the Faculty of Business at Accra Technical University in 2006 as a part-time teaching staff, then a full-time teaching staff from July 2007 to date. Her research interest is centred on Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Development, New Venture Creation and Management of New and Small Enterprises.  She has worked in committees to develop technical proposals for business start-up projects and programme development for the university. She recently took part in ATU-MSM NUFFIC FUNDED TAILOR-MADE TRAINING (TMT) PROGRAMME for developing ATU staff competencies to design a Commercial Agri-Business course targeted at female entrepreneurs

She offers advisory and consultancy services on how to write an effective and marketable business plan, starting your own business, coaching on the entrepreneurial process, SME development, and career choice guidance. She has also spoken in churches and student bodies, organised women and youth groups, and runs workshops and seminars on the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills and the management of small businesses. Ultimately, her objective is to have theoretical and practical exposure to entrepreneurship and career advancement.
