TUTAG-ATU Election 2024: Unopposed Candidates Secure Unanimous Re-election

The 2024 elections of the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) – Accra Technical University (ATU) Chapter has officially ended on August 23, 2024, at the Staff Common Room of Accra Technical University. The election, marked by a smooth process and devoid of incidents, was unique as all candidates ran unopposed in a Yes or No voting system.

Incumbent Chairperson Hanson Obiri-Yeboah retained his position with 126 Yes votes out of 131 total ballots cast. Vice Chairperson Samuel Blay Amo also secured his position with 129 votes in his favor. Mr. Bright Kyere was re-elected as Treasurer, garnering 127 Yes votes, while Mr. Saeed Alhassan held on to his role as Organizer with 129 votes.

Newly appointed Mrs. Florence Adwoa Ayirezang, debuting as a candidate for the Treasurer position, secured her appointment with 127 Yes votes. The candidates congratulated each other and expressed readiness to continue serving as local executives for the TUTAG-ATU chapter.

TUTAG represents the teaching and library staff of Ghana’s technical universities, advocating for improved working conditions, fair remuneration, and professional development for its members.
