The Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG), Accra Technical University Chapter, has welcomed a new team of executives following a handing-over ceremony held at the University’s New Auditorium.

The ceremony marked the end of Professor. Hanson Obiri Yeboah’s tenure as Chairman and the beginning of a new administration led by Mr. Amo Blay.
In his farewell address, Prof. Obiri Yeboah highlighted some achievements of his administration, including improved accommodation for members, better part-time teaching and marking rates, favourable loan arrangements and improved internet access. He thanked members for their support and congratulated the incoming executives.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Felix Y. H. Kutsanedzie, commended the outgoing leadership and encouraged members to support the new executives. He also urged members to focus their criticisms on ideas and decisions rather than individuals.

The newly elected executives were officially announced by the Electoral Commission Chairman, Dr. Ayitey, before taking the oath of office. The outgoing executives subsequently handed over the Union’s administrative documents to the new leadership.
In his acceptance speech, the incoming Chairman, Mr. Amo Blay, thanked members for the confidence placed in him and pledged to make their welfare a priority. He called for unity and cooperation to help the Union achieve its goals.

The National Chairman of TUTAG, Prof. Deodat Emilson Adenutsi, also encouraged the new executives to promote inclusive leadership and ensure that members are involved in the Union’s activities.
The ceremony brought together national and local union executives, University Management, representatives of staff associations, alumni and members of TUTAG-ATU.
