ATU Council Members Formally Introduced to Staff in Landmark Engagement Session

Accra Technical University (ATU) held a landmark staff engagement session on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, at the University Auditorium, during which members of the University Council were formally introduced to the ATU community. The meeting, chaired by the Council Chairman, Professor Ernest Kofi Abotsi, represented a historic moment as it marked the Council’s first official collective interaction with the University’s staff since its assumption of office.

The session was of great significance as it created an inclusive platform where staff could directly engage with the Council, thereby reinforcing a culture of transparency, accountability, and shared governance. By providing this avenue for dialogue, the University strengthened the bond between its governing body and the staff who form the backbone of its operations. The engagement also served as a reminder of the centrality of staff welfare, professional motivation, and career progression to the overall success of ATU’s academic and institutional mission.

Discussions at the meeting addressed pressing issues of mutual concern, including conditions of service, staff motivation, and promotions, which remain vital to sustaining morale and enhancing productivity. Beyond these, the dialogue highlighted the need for a continuous exchange of ideas between the Council and staff, aimed at advancing institutional growth and ensuring that ATU remains responsive to the evolving demands of technical and vocational education.

More importantly, the session underscored the Council’s resolve to nurture a supportive environment that empowers staff, fosters professional excellence, and aligns their aspirations with the University’s broader strategic direction. By opening this channel of engagement, ATU took a decisive step toward strengthening communication, cultivating mutual trust, and promoting an institutional culture rooted in inclusivity and collaboration.
