Some 32 Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students from the Faculty of Engineering who performed above average in the 2020/2021 academic year have been awarded certificates of recognition.

The brief awards ceremony came off at the Competency-Based Training Laboratory, also known as the CBT Lab, in the morning of Wednesday 24th August, 2022.

Delivering his open remarks at the event, the Dean of the faculty, Prof. Felix Kutsanedzie, revealed that the award scheme was instituted by the Vice-Chancellor of ATU, Prof. Samuel Nii Odai, to motivate students to improve their grades. 

Adding his voice to the Dean’s, the HoD of the Electrical/Electronic Engineering Department, Dr. Stephen Bani, in his closing remarks, reminded the awardees of the importance of hard work and consistency in one’s academic endeavour. He encouraged them that the University would continue to deliver on its promise to enhance students experience. 

The brief ceremony was graced by Heads of Departments of the Faculty and some staff.

About the Awards

The Vice-Chancellor’s, Dean’s and HoD’s awards are given to students to encourage them to excel more in their academic pursuits. 

Students who obtain a CGPA of 4.50 and above at the end of the academic year receive the Vice-Chancellor’s award whereas students who obtain a CGPA of 4.00 to 4.49 receive the Dean’s award and students with a CGPA of 3.80 to 3.99 receive the HoDs awards.
