The Faculty of Built Environment at Accra Technical University (ATU) has held a special workshop for a high-level delegation from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) as part of a study tour coordinated by the Lands Commission.
The visit, which took place on October 3, 2025, formed part of a week-long knowledge exchange initiative aimed at strengthening land administration, governance, and institutional capacity among member countries of IGAD including Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Sudan, and Eritrea.
During the session, faculty members from ATU made research presentations on land-related issues, highlighting the university’s contribution to land administration, real estate development, and policy research in Ghana. Presentations covered topics such as the role of ATU in land-related research, public sector transformation, land markets, and strategies for stakeholder engagement and professional training.

The delegation also took part in a guided tour of the faculty’s facilities and academic units. The visit offered IGAD representatives first-hand exposure to ATU’s learning environment and innovations in land governance, real estate, and the built environment.
Officials from the Lands Commission commended the faculty for its active role in building capacity and advancing technical expertise in land administration, describing ATU as a model institution in Ghana’s technical education sector.

The workshop ended with an exchange of ideas between ATU faculty members and the visiting delegates, fostering collaboration and strengthening the ties between Ghana and IGAD member countries in promoting sustainable land management and development.
