ATU Celebrates Outstanding Students Ahead of 25th Congregation

Students of Accra Technical University who excelled in both academic work and character have been celebrated ahead of the university’s 25th Congregation scheduled for November 29, 2025. The awards ceremony took place on 28 November 2025 at the University Auditorium.

The event was held to recognise the outstanding achievements of graduating students from the Class of 2025, acknowledging their hard work, discipline, and commitment to excellence. The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Amevi Ackapovi, congratulated the awardees and noted that their success reflects consistent effort and dedication. He encouraged them to make excellence a habit and to rely on the discipline that has brought them this far. He also urged them to put their skills and knowledge from ATU to practical use, explaining that the world now rewards competence and ability more than certificates.
Professor Ackapovi expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for the guidance and values that have shaped the students’ journey. He thanked them for trusting ATU and believing in the future of technical and vocational education. He also reflected on the university’s own progress within the year, highlighting improvements in academic offerings, international collaborations, grant opportunities, and strong performance in institutional rankings.

Faculty members were also acknowledged for the important role they play in shaping students both in and outside the lecture room. The Acting Vice-Chancellor encouraged them to continue supporting students and contributing to the development of the nation.

A key moment of the ceremony was the recognition of the Best Graduating BTech Student, Safo Gloria, from the Secretaryship and Management Department, who recorded an impressive CGPA of 4.93. She was also named the Overall Best Graduating BTech Student. Other awardees included the Overall Best MTech/MSc Graduating Student, Zenifar Bernard, with a CGPA of 4.75; the Best Female MTech/MSc Graduating Student, Owusu-Bempah Baaba, with a CGPA of 4.57; and the Best Graduating BTech International Student, Afegenui Meshongong Junior King-Blaise, with a CGPA of 4.59.
