Dr. Bernard Martin Arthur-Aidoo is a Senior Lecturer PhD and the current Head of Building Technology Department in the Faculty Built Environment. Dr. Arthur-Aidoo holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management (Construction) (2006) and a PhD in Engineering Management (2017) from the University of Westminster in the UK and the University of Johannesburg in South Africa respectively. He started his academic career as a Part-Time Lecturer at the Department of Building Technology during the era of the then polytechnic system in 2007/2008 academic year.
Dr. Arthur-Aidoo in the year 2010 took full-time employment and was teaching undergraduate students’ modules including measurement of building works, contract administration, building management and research methodology. In addition, Dr. Arthur-Aidoo has over the years developed a unique interest in building management and human resource management relative to the construction industry.
During the past three years since his doctoral graduation, Dr. Arthur-Aidoo has authored and co-authored several articles. Dr. Arthur-Aidoo is a multi-disciplinary built environment researcher in-growth of small and medium-sized construction firms. Further, his additional specialities include quantity surveying, project management, and proposal development for small and medium-sized firms.
He has successfully supervised and graduated over 20 HND students, with a postgraduate co-supervised (3) Master’s students and one (1) PhD students from the University of Johannesburg. Dr. Arthur-Aidoo is a reviewer of two globally recognised construction journal and an international scientific committee member to several construction conferences.
